Planting never stops…

Planting never stops…

Kia ora

Planting never stops on our 14+ hectares.

With the rain finally gracing us, we are now full-on planting a diverse range of natives and lavender.

The natives are filling in gaps all over the farm, with new plantings around our Tiny Home and our soon-to-be-completed glamping hut.

Around 1,500 plants are going into the ground to add to the 30,000+ already established (we stopped counting a couple of years ago!).

We always like to try different approaches, so this year, we are experimenting with planting a native ground cover alongside our lavender plants. In theory, this will keep the grass from continually invading the lavender and cut down the amount of time we hand weed.

Work continues in the lavender fields with a final hand weed before winter.
